FAQ

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions:

Which industrial processes can plastic cages be used for?

Depending on the material of manufacture, support cages can be used in many industrial sectors.

Polypropylene (PP) cages are used in the wood industry, furniture and carpentry industry, in glass and ceramics production, in chemical and pharmaceutical industries, in pulp industry for paper production, in food industry, in agriculture, in  production and granulation of fertilizers, and in maintenance and production companies dealing with polishing and grinding.

Polyamide (PA) cages are structurally very strong and  exhibit high resistance to high temperatures. They are used in: cement production industry, in production of building materials, in road construction, mining,  aggregate sector, in lime and gypsum industry, in food industry and agriculture, in the production and granulation of fertilizers, during recycling, in alternative fuel (RDF) dosing installations, in energy and coal industry, in glass and ceramics production, in metallurgy, metalworking, and foundry.

What does the modular construction of plastic cages involve?

The modular construction applies to both types of support cages we offer, however, there are some differences. In both cases, a single cage segment consists of two elements that are joined together using locks. The assembly pins and holes of ten are very well matched. Therefore, the assembly of even long support cages takes a very short time. Specialist tools are also not required. If you attempt to dismantle the already assembled elements of a cage segment, there is a risk of damage.

Polypropylene (PP) cages are installed by inserting single cage segments into the bag.

Polyamide (PA) cages  are characterized by the structure that allows a rigid connection of single cage segments, ensuring greater rigidity. Thanks to this, any cage length can be achieved, creating a compact, rigid element that holds the bag in the correct position. Additionally, Polyamide (PA) cages can be closed at the bottom using a specially designed lid.

What is the mechanical resistance (rigidity) of the product?

Polypropylene (PP) Cages - moderate resistance

Polyamide (PA) Cages - very high resistance

What is the temperature resistance of the product?

Polypropylene (PP) Cages

  • continuous resistance <100 °C
  • momentary resistance ~130 °C

Polyamide (PA) Cages

  • continuous resistance ~200 °C
  • momentary resistance ~220 °C
What is the chemical resistance of the cages?

Polypropylene (PP) Cages:

resistance to mineral acids: very good,

resistance to organic acids: good,

resistance to alkalines and lye substances: very good, resistance to oxidizing agents: very good, resistance to organic solvents: good, resistance to biological substances: good

Polyamide (PA) Cages: resistance to mineral acids: good, resistance to organic acids: very good, resistance to alkalines and lye substances: very good, resistance to oxidizing agents: good, resistance to organic solvents: good, resistance to biological substances: very good

Can a cage top lid in the form of a Venturi nozzle be used?

Plastic support cages can be equipped with a metal Venturi nozzle. This solution is often used in industrial equipment. In dry air dust collectors, Venturi nozzles create a secondary, increased airflow. The principle of operation of the Venturi nozzle is as follows: if a constriction appears at a certain point in the duct where the gas mixture moves at a specific speed, the flow speed will increase.

The Venturi nozzle is an economical solution that increases the efficiency of the dust collector itself and allows reduction in the amount of air needed to clean the filter bags, enhancing the effect of pulse cleaning. Compressed air is usually the most costly (energy-intensive) element in the operation of a dust collection system.

Venturi nozzles installed on support cages made of plastics are particularly applicable for long filter bags. Without a Venturi nozzle, the volume of cleaning air may be insufficient in relation to the number of filter bags that need cleaning.

How economical is it to start using plastic support cages?

Support cages made of plastics mean huge savings for you. Plastic cages are significantly cheaper than traditional metal solutions. Furthermore, the dismantled filter bag can be disposed of together with the support cage, which significantly lowers the operating costs of the entire dust collection installation.

Do you offer filter bags for support cages made of plastics?

As we strive to make our offer as complex as possible for you, we offer the supply of filter bags made of any material, tailored to the needs of our Clients.

Are dust collector filter cages cages made of plastics an eco-friendly solution?

Dust collector filter cages (despite the fact that they are made of plastics) are a very ecological product.

The materials used for their production are very easy to recycle. In fact, the dismantled and used filter bag with the cages can be entirely recycled and reused. Ecology contributes to the growing popularity of this product on the market. And the industrial sector can care for our planet's natural resources.

Product Portfolio:

Polypropylene (PP) filter cages

Support cages made of polypropylene can be used in many branches of industry and production processes where dust collection systems are applied, and where hot material is not being dedusted. These include all types of crushing, processing, transport, recycling installations, RDF installations, and other similar types. Polyamide cages can work in chemically aggressive environments (acids and alkalines). They show lower mechanical resistance.

Savings during maintenance or modernization of the dust collector?

Yes, it is possible with us. Polypropylene (PP) cages and Polyamide (PA) cages are the most economical and practical solution on the market!

Polyamid (PA) reinforced filter cages:

Dust collector filter cages made of reinforced Polyamide (PA) are structurally very strong cages exhibiting high resistance to high temperatures and frequent regeneration (cleaning) of the dust collector. Polyamide is a material with high mechanical resistance, and therefore is insensitive to high overpressures and underpressures generated in the dust collector.

Bottom lid - Bottom Closure of the Support Cage:

This modification was a response to the expectations of some of our Clients.

Overpressures and underpressures generated in a dry industrial dust collector can cause excessive wear of filter bags and eventually their abrasion during intensive operation.

To prevent this, it is possible to close the support cages at the bottom, using protective lids that secure the cage edges.

The installation of lids closing the bottom part of the support cage is exhibited using flanges, which are a component of the cage segment. Each closing lid is equipped with a female socket, allowing  rigid and secure connection of the component elements of the support cage.

The lids are connected to the cage segment using latches.

Venturi Nozzles - Top lid of the Support Cage:

Plastic support cages can be equipped with a metal Venturi nozzle.

This solution is often used in industrial equipment. In dry air dust collectors, Venturi nozzles create a secondary, increased airflow.

The principle of operation of the Venturi nozzle is as follows: if constriction appears at a certain point in the duct where the gas mixture moves at a specific speed, the flow speed will increase.

Venturi nozzles installed on support cages made of plastics are particularly applicable for long filter bags.

Without a Venturi nozzle, the volume of cleaning air may be insufficient in relation to the number of filter bags that need cleaning.

We have the capability to manufacture four types of Venturi nozzles. We are able to design the fitting of the Venturi nozzle on the support cage according to the Client’s individual guidelines.

This will allow precise fitting of the support cage’s top lid to the sifter sheet installed in the industrial dust collector, and will also guarantee easy installation of the filter bag.

Plastic cable ties are used to attach the Venturi nozzles.

The rounded shape of the cable ties minimizes the risk of damaging the filter bag while ensuring a durable connection between the elements.

Cages made of reinforced Polyamide (PA) mean real savings compared to traditional solutions.
